Understanding the Quantile Growth Planner
The Quantile Growth Planner offers a clear view of a student’s mathematical progress and supports long-term academic planning. Developed in partnership with MetaMetrics, it helps students, teachers, and parents better understand and track mathematical growth over time.
For students, the Growth Planner provides goal-setting tools, year-to-year progress tracking, and insights to stay on track for college and career readiness.
For teachers, it supports personalized instruction, identifies when targeted intervention may be needed, and helps communicate progress with families and administrators.
Users will be able to view their Quantile Growth Planner from the Scores page of a class after a student has completed at least one Benchmark Assessment (BOY, MOY, or EOY).
For guidance on completing an assessment, see Taking an Assessment.
The Quantile Growth Planner displays several projections, such as an Estimated Growth Path and College and Career Readiness Ranges, that outline expected performance based on current test scores.
Below are MetaMetrics’ descriptions for each projection:
- Pathway for Mathematical Readiness describes the mathematics skills and concepts that students should encounter and learn to be on-track for college and career after 12th grade.
- Estimated Growth Path represents how the student will likely grow given his/her Quantile measure(s).
- Recommended Growth Path represents how the student should grow and what the student should be ready for, mathematically, to be on track for college and careers after Grade 12 given his/her Quantile measure(s).
- Limited College and Career Readiness Range describes the mathematical demand of community college programs and careers with no specific mathematics requirements.
- Fundamental College and Career Readiness Range describes the mathematical demand of certification, community college, and 4-year university general education programs and careers that require advanced math courses such as algebra/trig, precalculus, introductory calculus, statistics, finance, and finite mathematics.
- Advanced College and Career Readiness Range describes the mathematical demand of 4-year university programs and careers that require advanced math courses such as calculus and beyond.

In a class, go to the Scores page and open the Benchmark Assessments tab.

Below the Quantile Scores table, you will find My Growth Planner Results.

Teachers can switch between students' Growth Planners by selecting View Growth Planners and choosing a student from the drop-down menu.

A student’s Quantile Growth Planner can also be accessed by selecting the student’s name within the Quantile Scores table.

After reviewing the chart, select Explore careers to view potential career options and compare your scores with the math demands of entry-level careers.

Teachers will also have access to Class Benchmark Comparisons. To begin, select a grade level from the drop-down menu. The table will display the national averages, which can be compared to the class scores.

The Quantile Growth Planner is also available on the student’s My Career Page, where users can download the chart and explore aligned careers.

Guardians can access the student’s My Growth Planner Results from this page as well.
